Etchers and Etching by Pennell, Joseph [Paperback] $55.84 A study of the work of the great etchers and the technical processes involved in the making of an etching, with superb examples from Rembrandt, Legros, Durer, Blake, Meryon, Goya, Rops, Whistler and others. Joseph Pennell was born in 1857 and died in 1926. He began his work as an illustrator by selling drawings of south Philadelphia to Scribners Monthly in 1881. In addition to his extensive sketches of American cities, he went to the Panama Canal and sketched a number of construction sites. He taught etching at the Arts Students league in New York, wrote several books, served as an art critic on the Brooklyn Eagle, and helped run the New Society of Sculptors, Painters Engravers. Pennell is considered to have done more than any other one artist of his time to improve the quality of illustration both in the United States and abroad and to raise its status as an art. He produced more than 900 etched and mezzotint plates, some 621 lithographs, and innumerable drawings and water colors. Author: Pennell, Joseph Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 380 Publication Date: 2004/08/01 Language: English Dimensions: 11.02 x 8.44 x 0.84 inches |

LaserInduced Etching $114.71 Bulk GaP is an indirectgap (2.26 eV) semiconductor and is a poor light emitter. Therefore, the crystalline size reduction in the formation of porous GaP is the crucial step towards opto electronic device applications. Porous GaP based structures possess high luminescence efficiency across the wide range from greenblue to UV spectrum. The laserinduced etching process has the added advantage of a control of size and optical properties without needing the use of electrodes. The laserinduced etching process is a promising technique for fabricating many optoelectronic devices including: light emitter devices, detectors, sensors and largescale integrated circuits. The surface phonon frequency depends on the nanocrystalline size, shape and dielectric constant of the surrounding medium. The average crystallite size was estimated to be 3nm. The broadening of Raman line is caused by the size distribution, which is dependent on the etching parameters. Author: Omar, Khalid/ H. Khan, Zahid/ K. Soni, R. Etching in Microsystem Technology $255 Microcomponents and microdevices are increasingly finding application in everyday life. The specific functions of all modern microdevices depend strongly on the selection and combination of the materials used in their construction, i.e., the chemical and physical solid-state properties of these materials, and their treatment. The precise patterning of various materials, which is normally performed by lithographic etching processes, is a prerequisite for the fabrication of microdevices. The microtechnical etching of functional patterns is a multidisciplinary area, the basis for the etching processes coming from chemistry, physics, and engineering. The book is divided into two sections: the wet and dry etching processes are presented in the first, general, section, which provides the scientific fundamentals, while a catalog of etching bath composition, etching instructions, and parameters can be found in the second section. This section will enhance the comprehension of the general section and also give an overview of data that are essential in practice. |
